IEEE is a global organization and the largest professional society in the world. It is made up of over 35 societies and 10 regions that all contain their own sections, sub-sections, student branches, chapters, and affinity groups. As the Missouri S&T Student Branch, we belong to the St. Louis Section and Region 5.
IEEE Societies
IEEE offers 39 different societies geared towards different technical interests. Examples include the Antennas and Propagation Society, the Communications Society, and the Instrumentation and Measurement Society. Each society offers specialized content, events, and benefits. IEEE Global

IEEE USA
IEEE USA was created in 1973 to advance the career and policy interests of US members. To do so, IEEE USA supplies career and advocacy resources as well as volunteer opportunities. To learn more, visit IEEE USA.
Region 5
Our region of IEEE, Region 5, provides opportunities for all grades of IEEE membership. They also have a young professionals group, Women in Engineering (WIE) group, a standards association, and a professional activities group. Region 5 also hosts an annual conference that involves many competitions for students to participate in. More information can be found here.

STL Section
The STL section of IEEE is home to 6 student branches, 5 society chapters, and 2 sub-section chapters. The STL section hosts an annual black box competition for students as well as a winter social, outreach events, and industry events. Visit the STL section website for more information.
Affinity Groups
Affinity groups of IEEE include Young Professionals groups, Women in Engineering (WIE) chapters, and chapters of Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), the electrical and computer engineering honor society of IEEE. There are chapters and meetups for these groups all over the world and being a part of them can help you make connections and advance your career.
